【摘要】:Thebutaneactivityasdeterminedbythistestmethodisameasureoftheabilityofanactivatedcarbontoadsorbbutanefromdryairunderspecifiedconditions.Itisusefulforthequalitycontrolandevaluationofgranularactivatedcarbons.Thebutaneactivityisanindicationofthemicroporevolumeoftheactivatedcarbonsample.Thisactivitynumberdoesnotnecessarilyprovideanabsoluteorrelativemeasureoftheeffectivenessofthetestedcarbonforotheradsorbatesoratotherconditionsofoperation.Thebutaneactivitytestcanbeusedasanon-ozonedepletingsubstituteforthecarbontetrachlorideactivitytestinTestMethodD3467.Fig.1showsanexperimentalcorrelationofactivityvaluesobtainedusingthetwoadsorbates.Note18212;Thistesthasnotbeendesignedforusewithpowderedactivatedcarbon,butithasbeenusedsuccessfullywhentheflowrateortimeareadjustedorthesamplevolumeisdecreasedtokeepthepressuredropatanacceptablevalue.FIG.1ButaneVersusCarbonTetrachlorideCorrelation1.1Thistestmethodcoversdeterminationoftheactivationlevelofactivatedcarbon.Butaneactivity(BA)isdefinedhereinastheratio(inpercent)ofthemassofbutaneadsorbedbyanactivatedcarbonsampletothemassofthesample,whenthecarbonissaturatedwithbutaneundertheconditionslistedinthistestmethod.1.2ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsaretoberegardedasthestandard.Thevaluesgiveninparenthesesareforinformationonly.1.3Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.Foraspecificwarningstatement,see7.1.
