【摘要】:ThisspecificationcoversmaterialsmadefromonlyvirginABSpolymersandblendsofABSpolymerssuitableforuseintheextrusionofpipeandmoldingoffittings.TherequirementsofthisspecificationareapplicableonlytotheABSpolymersandblendsofABSpolymersasclassifiedanddonotaddresstherequirementsofthefinishedpipeorfittings.TheapplicableASTMstandardspecificationforpipeorfittingsshouldbeconsultedfortheirrequirements.ThisspecificationexcludesABSpolymersandblendsofABSpolymersmadefromreprocessed,regrind,reclaimed,orrecycledmaterials.ABSrework,generatedin-housebytheoriginalplasticmanufacturer,maybeusedbythatoriginalmanufacturer,providedtheABSproductshippedmeetsthephysicalandmechanicalpropertiesrequiredbyitscalloutinTable1ofthisspecification.ThisspecificationprovidesameansfordescribingABSmaterialsusedinthemanufactureofpipeandfittings.Itisnotintendedfortheselectionofmaterials.Materialselectionshouldbemadebythosehavingexpertiseintheplasticsfieldaftercarefulconsiderationofthedesignandtheperformancerequiredofthepart,theenvironmenttowhichitwillbeexposed,thefabricationprocesstobeemployed,theinherentpropertiesofthematerialotherthanthosecoveredbythisspecification,andtheeconomics.ThisspecificationprovidesfortheclassificationofABSpolymersandblendsofABSpolymersintogroupsbasedonfiveproperties:Izodimpactstrengthatroomtemperature,Izodimpactstrengthatlowtemperature,deflectiontemperatureunderload,tensilestressatyieldpoint,andmodulusofelasticityintension.ThepropertiesincludedinthisspecificationarethoserequiredtoidentifytheABSmaterialbythecellclassifications.Note1-OtherrequirementsnecessarytoidentifyparticularcharacteristicsofABSpolymersandblendsofABSpolymerswillbeaddedastestmethodsbecomeavailableortheneedisidentified.Note2-Duetopipeandfittingstandardsrequirementsaseparatestandardisplannedforrecycledmaterials.Note3-ThisspecificationandISO7245-1984arenotequivalent.ThevaluesstatedinSIunitsshallbethestandard.Thevaluesgiveninbracketsareforinformationonly.1.7Thefollowingsafetyhazardscaveatpertainsonlytothetestmethodsportion,Section13,ofthisspecification:Thisstandarddoesnotpurporttoaddressallofthesafetyconcerns,ifany,associatedwithitsuse.Itistheresponsibilityoftheuserofthisstandardtoestablishappropriatesafetyandhealthpracticesanddeterminetheapplicabilityofregulatorylimitationspriortouse.
